Working in partnership

We are stronger together

Partnership has always been at the heart of Fauna & Flora’s approach. Today, it’s central to every conservation challenge we tackle. Safeguarding endangered primates in Vietnam. Protecting a transboundary forest landscape in West Africa. Restoring a Caribbean wildlife haven to its former glory. Putting an end to plastic pellet pollution.

We work hand in hand with over 400 partners, saving nature together, in more than 40 countries worldwide. Those partners include communities, local and international NGOs, governments, multinational corporations, academic institutions and funding bodies.

This approach works.

Together with our partners, we have already saved many species from extinction. They include the majestic mountain gorilla, the rediscovered Siamese crocodile and the little-known Antiguan racer – once the world’s rarest snake. We have rescued landscapes and seascapes from destruction and overexploitation, benefiting wildlife and communities.

And we are helping to mitigate climate change by keeping huge quantities of carbon – close to a billion tonnes, according to the latest estimate – locked up in natural ecosystems at our project sites.

Local conservation partners

Putting local communities and our in-country partners centre stage ensures that we are addressing the priorities of the people on the front line of the biodiversity and climate crisis. By combining our own experience and resources with local expertise and traditional knowledge, we play to our respective strengths. This achieves maximum conservation impact and ensures that conservation gains are sustainable in the long term.

Global collaborations

In addition to working one-to-one with individual partners, Fauna & Flora also leads or participates in a number of global collaborations comprising multiple partners. These range from long-running conservation leadership and species-specific programmes to more recent conservation technology partnerships.

Funding partners

The conservation impact that we achieve would not be possible without the support of our members, donors and funding partners – the trusts and foundations and statutory funders who recognise the crucial importance of our work. A number of these bodies have supported Fauna & Flora’s work for many years, a mark of confidence in our partnership-led approach to conservation.

Featured partner: Arcadia

The partnership between Fauna & Flora and Arcadia spans more than a quarter of a century and has enabled us to influence the conservation of some 55.8 million hectares of critical habitat.

Corporate partners

Nature-positive business practices have huge potential to contribute to our conservation goals. We work with carefully selected corporate partners to ensure that nature and climate are at the heart of business decisions and practices.
