Fauna & Flora’s work to save nature is only possible thanks to the dedicated individuals who champion our cause around the world and contribute to our nature-saving projects.
We benefit from the expertise of leaders from a range of sectors, supporting us long term to make a real impact. Our patron, president, vice-president and wider network of nature’s champions all play their own unique role in helping us to grow and develop our conservation work. Ensuring we keep evolving and stay effective.
Our Patron
HRH The Prince of Wales is the latest in a long line of royal patrons whose support Fauna & Flora has benefitted from. With an unrelenting passion for nature, Prince William is an outstanding advocate for conservation, and for the local communities that are at the heart of restoring and protecting nature worldwide.
Before Prince William, we were enormously fortunate to have Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as our royal patron, who supported us for almost seven decades.

She has also held a role as a senior adviser to WWF and is currently a special adviser to Rewilding Europe, a Dutch Foundation that aims to rewild one million hectares of land by 2020. She is also a Fellow at the European Climate Foundation.

Our Vice-president
Sir David Attenborough is a broadcaster and naturalist. His career as the face and voice of natural history programmes has spanned more than 70 years. He is best known for writing and presenting the nine Life series, in conjunction with the BBC Natural History Unit. He is also a former senior manager at the BBC, having served as controller of BBC Two and director of programming for BBC Television in the 1960s and 1970s.

In that time he has offered enormous support to the organisation and attended numerous events, including our centenary celebrations in 2003 and our 110th anniversary event in 2013 during which he was interviewed by Radio 4’s Libby Purves on the challenges of conservation for the future.
