Why you should join

We live in a time of ecological crisis. The endangered species list grows longer every year, with around 24,000 species currently threatened with extinction, including some of the world’s most beloved creatures such as the Sumatran tiger.

With the help of our members, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is fighting to save these species – but we need your help.

You can help protect these endangered species right now by joining one of the world’s most effective conservation teams as a member.

As a member you’ll have the chance to get closer to conservation. We’ll send you personal updates on the impact we’re having, so you can see what your support is helping to achieve. We’ll keep you up to date with our innovative work and the wonderful array of animal and plant species that you’re helping to protect globally. We’ll even invite you to our global headquarters in the David Attenborough Building in Cambridge for our AGM, where you’ll have the chance to meet and hear from the conservationists who are at the forefront of protecting global biodiversity.

All of our members are passionate about protecting our planet and the life on it, and know that joining FFI is one of the best ways to do this.

Fauna & Flora International saves endangered species and habitats around the world. I'm proud to have been a member for over 50 years.
Sir David Attenborough OM FRS
Vice-president and FFI member since 1959

What Difference You Could Make

Whilst getting closer to conservation and keeping up to date with the latest news is important, the impact we have on the protection of the natural world is what impassions our members. When you join FFI, your membership is enabling FFI to:

  • Conserve 9.8 million hectares of important habitat each year (that’s an area larger than Hungary)
  • Conserve more than 200 species of plants and animals
  • Partner with more than 320 organisations including local NGOs, governments and universities
  • Build the conservation capacity of over 3,200 people each year

At FFI we have over 150 projects under way in more than 40 countries, preserving habitats and saving species around the world. For example, we’re working to keep forests in China and Vietnam safe for critically endangered species such as the cao vit gibbon. In Belize, we’ve teamed up with a wildlife trust to protect jaguars from poachers. And since we began working with communities in Cambodia to manage conflicts between people and elephants, not a single elephant has been killed there.

By joining FFI as a member, you too will be part of this solution.

Here’s a short video from one of our events, where Sir David Attenborough said what inspired him to join FFI in 1959.
