Vibrant, stimulating and collaborative environment

We are working at the forefront of global conservation, with groundbreaking conservation programmes that blend pragmatism with aspiration to create exciting new solutions to even the most seemingly intractable conservation challenges.

This work is led by a team of talented, intelligent and passionate people who support each other and are always ready to lend advice or a helping hand. Collaboration is part of Fauna & Flora International’s DNA, and we foster an environment and culture that supports this.

Whether through formal meetings, educational seminars or informal chats in the kitchen – or even outside the office in one of the city’s many cafés, pubs or green spaces – you will have the chance to connect with colleagues across the organisation.

Stunning space and surroundings

Our UK headquarters are located in the David Attenborough Building at the heart of the historical city of Cambridge. With King’s College and other iconic landmarks just a stone’s throw away, our recently refurbished eco-building features a four-storey living ‘green wall’, rooftop terraces, a library, a lecture theatre and a spacious common room where colleagues can meet and relax.

But there is something else rather special about the David Attenborough Building: it is home to over 500 conservation academics and practitioners, all of whom are part of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative – an exciting partnership between the University of Cambridge and the leading biodiversity conservation organisations (including Fauna & Flora International) clustered in Cambridge.

By bringing so many different people and disciplines together, the Cambridge Conservation Initiative allows us to harness the individual skills and networks of a rich and varied group as we work together towards a common goal.

The building demonstrates the highest levels of environmental sustainability and the latest communication technologies enable us to bring people together from across the globe.

Career development

At Fauna & Flora International you will have many opportunities to grow and develop professionally, both through on-the-job training and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, and through formal internal and external training events.

We have a team dedicated to supporting our colleagues to become the best they can be, helping them to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to further their career.

What’s more, as a relatively small and agile organisation we offer ample opportunity to seize new experiences and try new things. And with an active social committee and a number of recreational clubs, that goes for out-of-hours activities too!
