This comprehensive biodiversity survey conducted in the Samlout Multiple Use Area in Battambang and Pailin Provinces, Cambodia, documents the diverse array of invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals present – highlighting the ecological importance of this area.

The survey, conducted between October 2021 and June 2022 to gather comprehensive data on the region’s biodiversity, focused on five taxonomic groups: bats, orchids, invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians and birds, alongside a camera-trapping programme aiming to record elusive mammals and terrestrial birds. Each survey produced a standalone report, detailing findings and concluding with suggested recommendations. The survey confirmed the presence of several threatened species such as Sunda pangolin, Asian elephant and dhole.
