Rebecca has been working at FFI since September 2007. Though she studied conservation in her BA and MSc, she decided that the life in the jungle just wasn't for her. Having grown up in New York City, she has experienced more pigeons and squirrels than parrots and spider monkeys. So she decided to write about the impact that FFI's projects have on the ground.
Her current role as Communications Officer (Business & Biodiversity) has allowed her to focus her energy towards FFI's innovative Business & Biodiversity Programme. Rebecca helps to get the message out about FFI's strategic corporate partnerships and what they have helped to achieve for global biodiversity.
FFI Australia’s newest Founders’ Board member Mark Joiner has just raised over AUS$70,000 for Fauna & Flora International (FFI) in a sponsored cycle ride! We would like to congratulate Mark on his amazing achievement and thank him for his support to FFI.
Mark Joiner
Mark (pictured right) completed his 700km ride across Iowa, US, in the annual The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa event.
The ride not only challenged Mark’s fundraising skills, but also his endurance – particularly as he recovered from a bout of pneumonia only a short time before he left Australia for the USA. But it was all worth it!
“It was an amazing experience,” said Mark. “We met some terrific people, enjoyed wonderful American hospitality, faced some interesting challenges… and loved every minute of it!”

Mark, and FFI, would like to thank everyone who supported him for their generosity. You can show your support to Mark and FFI on the dedicated Mark Joiner sponsorship page.
It’s down to dedicated people like Mark that FFI can continue our vital work to save species and habitats around the world.
Taking part in a sponsored event like a cycle ride is a fantastic way to support FFI. Why not try it yourself?
