Programme Development Manager, Conservation Leadership Programme

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract Type: 14 month fixed-term contract

Location: Fauna & Flora, Cambridge. Current policy offers partial remote working within the UK

The Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) is looking to recruit a Programme Development Manager to lead the fundraising plan of this dynamic partnership programme. This will take up 70% of the Programme Development Manager’s time. The role will work closely with the Executive Manager, CLP and CLP’s Executive Committee, comprised of senior management from Birdlife International, Wildlife Conservation Society and Fauna & Flora.

You will have a substantial proven track record in fundraising from Institutional Funding sources. You will use your excellent relationship management skills to strengthen links with existing funders, and cultivate opportunities already discovered, as well as identify new sources of income. Using your project management and writing skills, you will work across the three partner organizations to coordinate approaches to suitable donors. You will lead on the relationship development, whilst keeping relevant organizations up to date, with the aim to secure significant funding for CLP from 2024 onwards.

Confidence in meetings and networking, both face-to-face and online, is essential. You will have excellent attention to detail when it comes to writing and reviewing documents. You will have experience working closely with teams to develop suitable materials and pitches to approach new donors. Success in this role is only possible through good working relationships and a proactive approach. Interpersonal and time-management skills are critical to enabling you to build strong internal working relationships as you bring information together to meet deadlines.

The remainder of your time (30%) will be spent working directly with Fauna & Flora’s Trusts & Foundations team to support other conservation programme teams turn their visions into compelling proposals and showcase their work through accurate reports.
