This is a truly exciting time to be joining FFI’s fundraising team. Over the past few years we have been honing our fundraising and have created what we believe to be an industry-leading programme, built on developing and nurturing genuine long-term relationships with the people who support our conservation work. In order to meet growing environmental challenges, we have developed an ambitious conservation strategy to 2023. With this in mind, we are looking for an outstanding individual with a track record of successfully leading and supporting sustainable growth in income. Specifically, this opportunity is to lead our global Trusts & Foundations fundraising work.
The Trusts & Foundations team is an ambitious and high performing team which has supported growth in income from trusts and foundations of 20% year on year for 5 years in a row. In 2020 FFI aims to raise circa £25 million of which more than half will come from trusts and foundations. Our success to date is far reaching with current relationships spanning multiple countries in Europe as well as the USA and Australia. Now we have set our sights on expansion; following years of strategic development FFI is in the perfect position to take its fundraising to the next level with new opportunities across Europe and in the USA.
We are seeking a proven, results-driven leader to drive forward our successful team. Committed to conservation and the environment, you will use your relationship management skills to strengthen existing funding relationships as well as forge new successful opportunities to grow income for FFI. Using your well-honed leadership and influencing skills and knowledge of good project development and delivery, you will work directly with FFI’s conservation programme teams to drive forward the organisational capacity for fundraising and ensuring that there is an institutional step change in FFI’s ability to secure significant grants from Trusts & Foundations in contribution to our ambitious strategy. A confident ambassador and networker, you may be required to travel both within the UK and internationally to cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors.
You will work with your team to share knowledge, learning and resources across FFI and with FFI’s partners across the world to build skills in how to successfully package compelling proposals for external audiences, and best practice in grant management and donor stewardship.
You will have a proven track record in securing six figure gifts and meeting financial targets as well as successfully driving forward a team. Experience in securing funds from the USA, mainland Europe and other international foundations is desirable, as is experience of working with programme staff internationally.
In return, the role offers the opportunity to work within an exciting, friendly and lively team within an international, impactful and ground-breaking organisation, at the forefront of global conservation. In addition, FFI offers a generous pension contribution, attractive annual leave allowance and life insurance.
Our offices are located in The David Attenborough Building in central Cambridge, just a few minutes’ walk from glorious historic buildings and museums, the picturesque River Cam, the central market and shopping centre, and a host of cafés and restaurants.
