You’ve probably heard about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on conservation. Many communities where we work have been hit hard, due to a loss of income. The combined absence of tourist revenue and the reduced presence of rangers in the field have led to an upturn in poaching.

At the same time, the income streams of many of those on the frontline of conservation have been severely affected and, in some instances, funding has dried up completely. There is a serious risk that some of most crucial work may not survive the crisis without additional – and urgent – support.
