Donate in recognition of Mark Rose

Donate today to celebrate a conservation hero – in recognition of Mark Rose’s exceptional three decade tenure.

During that time he has been instrumental in transforming Fauna & Flora from an organisation with a handful of active projects into a multifaceted global conservation charity with a work programme comprising more than 100 projects in over 40 countries.

He has spearheaded the establishment of innovative corporate partnerships that encourage big business to put biodiversity at the heart of the strategic planning process and developed numerous successful sustainable business initiatives in support of species and landscape conservation.

Mark has been a driving force behind the establishment of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI), a unique collaboration between the University of Cambridge and leading, internationally focused biodiversity conservation organisations based in and around the city.

All donations from this appeal will go towards furthering the work he devoted his career to.

In a career spanning nearly 30 years Mark has led FFI from humble beginnings to become one of the world’s very best conservation organisations today: a vibrant, dynamic and innovative global force. He's led FFI in protecting and restoring biodiversity and nature all over the world. Not just that, he spots talent and gives it a chance to flourish. Many of us have grown in our careers because he gave us a chance – me included, years ago when he gave me my first proper conservation role at the Suffolk Trust for Nature Conservation.

Although Mark’s decision to step down is difficult to take on board, it is understandable: he wants to give space and continuity for a new leader to take forward our exciting strategy while he moves on to support conservation in new ways – including as an advisor to FFI’s Chair and Council of Trustees. This means we will continue to benefit from his wisdom and experience after he has handed over the operational leadership of FFI to a new CEO in June.
