Kalimantan orang-utan

FFI’s orang-utan work is being carried out in and around Borneo’s Gunung Palung National Park, home to world’s largest orang-utan population along with clouded leopards, sun bears, and proboscis monkeys. We are training patrol units specialised in orang-utans but with an all-encompassing remit for habitat protection. We place a high priority on combating illegal capture of orang-utans, both through preventative action and through community education programmes. We are also supporting broader interventions designed to integrate conservation objectives into land use planning.
